Short Description of Gangtey Gongona Khotokha Winter Trek Gangtey Gongona Khotokha Winter is a moderate trekking starts from Gangtey at Phobjikha, a wide green lush valley which is also a winter residence of rare and endangered black necked cranes that migrate from Tibet to Bhutan in late autumn. |

| The trail passes through mixed forest of juniper, magnolia, and rhododendron to the remote hamlets and farmland of Gogona and Khotokha. The best season is in April when rhododendrons are in full bloom. |

GENERAL ITINERARY |
 |
Day 01: WELCOME TO KATHMANDU Arrival day, our office representative greets you at Airport and transfer to Hotel, in the evening Briefing about tour. |

Day 02: KATHMANDU After Breakfast, we begin our sightseeing tour to Swoyambhunath Stupa where we can see a lot of monkeys & beautiful view of Kathmandu Valley. This old Stupa is also known as Monkey Temple. We continue our tour by visiting Bouddhanath Stupa, second biggest Stupa in the world & Pashupatinath Temple, famous Hindus Temple. In the afternoon, we begin our preparation for trekking. O/n at Hotel. |

Day 03: KATHMANDU - PARO Upon arrival at Paro International Airport, you will be assisted and we drive through the beautiful Paro valley to the hotel. Overnight in hotel. |

Day 04: PARO [Sightseeing] This day, we will have the opportunity to visit and see some of the natural culture of the country including Drugyel Dzong, a ruin fort, once strategically important to Bhutan's defense against Tibet. Mount Jomolhari can be viewed beyond the ruined fort on a clear day. In afternoon, we visit the National Museum and Paro Dzong. After this, we visit handicrafts in Paro. Overnight in Hotel. |

Day 05: PARO - GANGTEY GOMPA After breakfast leave for Gangtey Gompa. The road winds through the pine forest to Dochu La (La means pass) 10,000ft, where in good weather 200 miles of Himalayan summit are in view. After driving two hours reach at Wangdi. Continue drive to Gangtey Gompa. Overnight at Gangtey Gompa. |

Day 06: GANGTEY GOMPA - GOGONA A moderate trail wind through meadows and fields then ascends the Tselela pass through mixed forest of Juniper, Bamboo, Magnolia, and Rhododendrons. The people of Gogona speak a language called Bjopkha the language of nomads. Their life in this isolated valley has encouraged them to continue using their ancient dialect. Overnight in camp. |

Day 07: GOGONA - KHOTOKHA A gentle climb leads to Shobju-La 11,155ft. The descend leads to fill wide valley, Reminiscent of the big sky views of mountains. Overnight in camp. |

Day 08: KHOTOKHA - WANGDI A short ascent leads to the Tashi-La pass 9,200ft. Be sure to fill your water bottle shortly after crossing the pass, as the descent is dry. Walk down and down through ever-changing vegetation into the drainage of the Dhang Chu. Overnight in Wangdi guesthouse. |

Day 09: WANGDI - THIMPHU After breakfast drive to Punakha Dzong viewpoint at the north end of the Punakha valley. It was the Nation's capital until 1966. The Je-khenpo, head abbot of monk body in the country resides in winter since the lower elevation of this valley has more comfortable temperature. Return drive to Thimphu over Dochu-La pass and stop at cafe for hot cup of tea/coffee and biscuits. Continue drive to Thimphu. Lunch at hotel. Afternoon, sightseeing and shopping. Overnight in hotel. |

Day 11: FLY BACK TO KATHMANDU In early morning, you will be transferred to Paro Airport for your onward departure flight.Our representative will pick you up from the airport & transfer to Hotel. There is free afternoon. O/n Hotel. Or you can connect your onward flight to your own destination. |

Day 12: KATHMANDU Free day on your own for shopping or hanging around Kathamndu. O/n Hotel. |

Day 18: DEPARTURE We drive to airport for your Final Departure. |

SOME FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS BY OUR CUSTOMERS
How can I enter in Nepal? Nepal is a popular tourist destination in south Asia. Several airlines have direct and non-stop flights from Middle East and Asia to Kathmandu, Capital of Nepal. There are direct flights from London, Paris, Frankfurt, Doha, Osaka, Shanghi, Mascow, Bangkok, Singapore, Hongkong, Karachi, Bombay, Delhi, Calcutta, Paro, Dhaka, Lhasa, Varanasi.
Do I need to stay in Katmandu? Kathmandu is the capital of Nepal. At least, you need to spend two nights in Kathmandu before and after your trip. In above cost, we have included two nights accommodation at 4 stars hotel on BB plan.
Do I need to join with group? It is not necessary; you have to join with group and follow our group departure date, because private trip departures everyday upon your request and requirements. You can move at your own pace and set your own schedule by not being in group..
What kind of accommodation I can have during the trip? In Kathmandu, we do provide 4 stars hotel in Kathmandu as per your request and during the trekking, we provide you guest house which is called Tea house. Tea Houses are more like hotels, with hot showers, western food, and private rooms (twin sharing). In this arrangement overnight halts with dinner and breakfast will be in Tea-houses (Lodges) and lunches in local restaurants en-route. Furthermore as you will be staying in locally owned lodges you will be benefiting and interacting with the local community. It will give you a true feel for the Nepalese people and their lives.
What kind of meals I can have during the trip? In Kathmandu, we do provide you breakfast and welcome or farewell dinner. All Meals on full board basis will be provided during trekking. You have to choose from menu. Freshly cooked food is served at all times (western, continental and Nepali meals are available in all places). Three meals a day will be provided.
Do I have pre-departure meeting? Yes, at first, our staff will receive you at the airport and transfer to the hotel and our tour leader will brief regarding about the trip. The briefing will cover the itinerary and introduced your trek Leader.
Can I charge camera batteries along the trek? Yes, Most of the places, you can charge batteries along the trek (per hour USD 2-3 for charging).
Can I extend my holiday?
This trek-tour can extend and there are many options and choices to extend your holiday before or after your main trip. Following trips are suggested for your holiday extensions.
