Short Description of Druk Yul Pilgrimage Tour
This is a moderate trekking from Paro to Thimphu or vice versa. It is a picturesque route that leads you to traverse through thick alpine and rhododendron forest to the yak herder's camp and to the wonderful lakes known for the trout fish. In clear weather, one can have breathtaking views of snow capped himalayan mountains.
 
 
From the ruins of Drukgyal Dzong (fortress of the Victorous Drukpas), below such beautiful peaks, you will hike through the heart of wildlife-rich. The sky-piercing peaks, thunderous waterfalls, turquoise lakes and streams, rolling meadows filled with wildflowers, remote yak herders villages, and forests of rodhodendron, pine, juniper and fir provide the perfect backdrop for this inspiring and challenging adventure. You will be rewarded with up-close views of Bhutan’s most beautiful peaks.

    GENERAL ITINERARY

Day 01: WELCOME TO KATHMANDU
Arrival day, our office representative greets you at Airport and transfer to Hotel , in the evening Briefing about tour.
Day 02: KATHMANDU
After Breakfast, we start our sightseeing tour to Swoyambhunath Stupa where we will be able to view a lot of monkeys & beautiful view of Kathmandu Valley. This old stupa is also know as Monkey Temple. We continue our sightseeing tour by visiting Bouddhanath Stupa, second biggest Stupa in the world & Pashupatinath Temple, famous Hindus temple. In the afternoon, we begin our preparation for Trekking. O/n at Hotel.
Day 03: KATHMANDU - PARO
Upon arrival at Paro Airport, you will be received by our representative and transferred to hotel. Overnight in hotel.
Day 04: PARO [Sightseeing]
In this day, we will start our sightseeing with a visit to Drugyel Dzong, a ruin fort, once strategically important to Bhutan's defense against Tibetan invasion. Mount Jhomolhari can be viewed beyond the ruined fort on a clear day. In afternoon, we visit National Museum, Paro Dzong and the local shops in Paro valley. Overnight in hotel.
Day 05: PARO - THIMPHU
We drive to Thimphu, the capital of Bhutan through the terraced fields along the bank of the Pa Chu (Paro River) to its confluence with Wang Chu, then up-valley to Thimphu. In afternoon, we visit the local handicraft center. Overnight in hotel.
Day 06: THIMPHU [Sightseeing]
There is a full day sightseeing which includes shopping and visiting the local handicraft shops in Thimphu. We will also visit the workshops where all the handicrafts are produced. After lunch, we visit to the National Library and drive to Motithang to see the Golden Takin (Bhutan's National Animal). Overnight in hotel.
Day 07: THIMPHU - TONGSA
We drive to Tongsa, central Bhutan that will take 7-8hours. On the way, we will also visit Punakha Dzong, ancient capital of Bhutan which is at an altitude of 1,350metres (4,430ft). For lunch, we will stop at Chendebji Chorten, and continue drive to Tongsa. A vantagepoint from the opposite side of the valley, still 14Km from Tongsa, provides a welcome view of the Tongsa Dzon. Overnight in tourist lodge.
Day 08: TONGSA - BUMTHANG
In the morning, we visit Tongsa Dzong and Ta-Dzong (watchtower) and drive to Bumthang, 18 miles (29Km) from Tongsa. The road reaches the Yutong La pass at a height of 3,400meters (11,155ft). From the viewpoint, we can see Jakar Dzong "Castle of the White Bird". We will reach Bumthang in time for lunch. In the afternoon, we visit Lamey Gompa monastery, which is an office of the Forest Institute today. It is one of the finest examples of the palatial architecture in Bhutan built by Tongsa Penlop Sonam Drugyel at the beginning of the 19th Century. He was the great maternal grandfather of the late King, Ugyen Wangchuk. Overnight in Hotel.
Day 09: BUMTHANG [Sightseeing]
There is a full day sightseeing tour of the Jampa Lhakhang, Kurje Lhakhang, Tamshing Lhakhang, and Kencho Sum Lhakhang. Overnight in Guest House.
Day 10: BUMTHANG - PUNAKHA
After breakfast, we drive to Punakha. We take lunch at Chendebji Chorten. After lunch, we continue our drive to Punakha. Overnight in hotel.
Day 11: PUNAKHA - THIMPHU
After early breakfast, we visit Chimmi Lhakhang (Monastery of Fertility) and drive to Thimphu over the Dochu La pass which is at an altitude of 3,050meters (10,000ft). On the clear day, we can see spectacular views from the Dochu La pass. Overnight in hotel.
Day 12: THIMPHU - PARO
We drive to Paro and on the way, we also visit Simthoka Dzong the oldest Dzong in Bhutan. Overnight in hotel.
Day 13: FLY BACK TO KATHMANDU
In early morning, you will be transferred to Paro Airport for your onward departure flight.Our representative will pick you up from the airport & transfer to Hotel. You will have free Afternoo. O/n Hotel. Or you can connect your onward flight to your own destination.
Day 14: KATHMANDU
Free day on your own for shopping or hanging around Kathamndu. O/n Hotel.
Day 15: DEPARTURE
We drive to airport for your Final Departure.

How can I enter in Nepal?
Nepal is a popular tourist destination in south Asia. Several airlines have direct and non-stop flights from Middle East and Asia to Kathmandu, Capital of Nepal. There are direct flights from London, Paris, Frankfurt, Doha, Osaka, Shanghi, Mascow, Bangkok, Singapore, Hongkong, Karachi, Bombay, Delhi, Calcutta, Paro, Dhaka, Lhasa, Varanasi.

Do I need to stay in Katmandu?
Kathmandu is the capital of Nepal. At least, you need to spend two nights in Kathmandu before and after your trip. In above cost, we have included two nights accommodation at 4 stars hotel on BB plan.

Do I need to join with group?
It is not necessary; you have to join with group and follow our group departure date, because private trip departures everyday upon your request and requirements. You can move at your own pace and set your own schedule by not being in group..

What kind of accommodation I can have during the trip?
In Kathmandu, we do provide 4 stars hotel in Kathmandu as per your request and during the trekking, we provide you guest house which is called Tea house. Tea Houses are more like hotels, with hot showers, western food, and private rooms (twin sharing). In this arrangement overnight halts with dinner and breakfast will be in Tea-houses (Lodges) and lunches in local restaurants en-route. Furthermore as you will be staying in locally owned lodges you will be benefiting and interacting with the local community. It will give you a true feel for the Nepalese people and their lives.

What kind of meals I can have during the trip?
In Kathmandu, we do provide you breakfast and welcome or farewell dinner. All Meals on full board basis will be provided during trekking. You have to choose from menu. Freshly cooked food is served at all times (western, continental and Nepali meals are available in all places). Three meals a day will be provided.

Do I have pre-departure meeting?
Yes, at first, our staff will receive you at the airport and transfer to the hotel and our tour leader will brief regarding about the trip. The briefing will cover the itinerary and introduced your trek Leader.

Can I charge camera batteries along the trek?
Yes, Most of the places, you can charge batteries along the trek (per hour USD 2-3 for charging).

Can I extend my holiday?
This trek-tour can extend and there are many options and choices to extend your holiday before or after your main trip. Following trips are suggested for your holiday extensions.
